Cox & Rawle Specimen Extra Short Hooks (SCR29XS)

Heavy-Duty Short Shank Hook for Specimen and Big Baits

The Cox & Rawle Specimen Extra Short Hook (SCR29XS) is a highly reliable and durable hook designed for anglers targeting medium to large specimen fish. It is a short shank version of the heavy wire Big Mouth Aberdeen hook, providing exceptional strength and a compact profile, ideal for hard-fighting species in open water and estuaries.

This hook is perfect for presenting bulkier fish, squid, or large worm baits while ensuring the hook point remains clear for maximum penetration and a secure hook-hold.

Key Features & Benefits:

• Short Shank Design: The short shank reduces leverage, making it incredibly strong and ideal for battling hard-fighting fish while keeping them securely hooked throughout the fight.
• Heavy Wire Construction: Built with a low diameter yet fairly heavy gauge wire for added strength and durability, preventing the hook from opening under extreme pressure.
• Wide Gape: Features a wide gape to improve hook-up performance, particularly when using bulky baits such as full squid, crab, and large fish fillets.
• Forged Bend: The forged bend provides enhanced structural strength, a signature of quality terminal tackle designed for specimen fishing.
• Micro Barb: Equipped with a micro barb to ensure an excellent hook-hold with minimal damage to the fish and easier unhooking.
• Ideal Bait Application: The short shank and wide gape make it the perfect choice for a variety of baits, including fish and squid baits plus larger worm offerings.
• Target Species: A great choice for larger species of fish such as Cod, Bass, Huss, and Rays.
