UTC Ultra Thread 140D Strong, smooth, and versatile nylon tying thread.

UTC Ultra Thread 140D is a go-to choice for fly tiers seeking strength, control, and versatility at the vise. Made from continuous polyester filaments that are slightly bonded, this thread ties flat on the hook, making it perfect for creating smooth, even bodies. Lightly waxed for added grip, it splits easily for dubbing and offers excellent control for precise wraps. With a breaking strength of about 2 lb, Ultra Thread 140D is exceedingly strong for its diameter, making it a favorite for trout streamers, steelhead patterns, and medium-to-large flies where durability matters. Smooth, slow-building, and easy to use, its an essential addition to any fly tiers toolkit. Shop online or visit Drift Outfitters in Toronto for expert advice and fast shipping anywhere in Canada.
