Yo-Zuri Pins Minnow Floating 70mm: The Ultralight Multi-Species Staple

At Gerrys Fishing, weve seen the Yo-Zuri Pins Minnow series remain a top seller worldwide for over two decades, and for good reason. This 70mm, 4g floating version is the quintessential finesse minnow. Designed to mimic small, slender forage, it features a state-of-the-art holographic foil finish and a detailed etched bodyincluding realistic gill platesthat provides a lifelike shimmer even in low-light conditions.

Despite its lightweight 4g profile, the Pins Minnow punches well above its weight in terms of casting. Equipped with Yo-Zuris Weight Transfer System, internal steel balls shift to the rear during the cast for stable, long-distance flight, then lock into the front chamber to provide a balanced, tight wiggling action the moment you begin your retrieve.

Product Details and Uses

The Pins Minnow 70mm is a versatile multi-species tool that excels in both fresh and saltwater environments:

• Shallow Water Stealth: Diving only to a maximum of 60cm, this lure is the perfect choice for fishing over submerged weed beds, shallow mudflats, or thin water in tidal creeks where deeper lures would snag.

• Tight Wiggling Action: The hydrodynamic lip design creates a frantic, high-frequency wiggle that perfectly replicates a fleeing minnow or fry. It can be fished with a steady retrieve for a natural swim or twitched to create an erratic darting motion.

• Freshwater Finesse: This is a legendary lure for Trout, Perch, and Chub. In rivers and streams, the floating buoyancy allows you to drift the lure under overhanging trees or structures before starting your retrieve.

• Saltwater Versatility: Saltwater anglers rely on the 70mm Pins Minnow for targeting species that focus on small baitfish, such as Sea Trout, Mackerel, and Schoolie Bass. Its durable ABS construction ensures it can handle the aggressive strikes of saltwater predators.

• Trolling Capabilities: Thanks to its balanced design and stability, it can also be effectively trolled at slow speeds behind a boat or kayak, making it a great searching tool in large lakes or calm coastal bays.

Gerrys Pro Tip: Because this lure is only 4g, it performs best on light or ultralight spinning tackle with thin braided line (0.06mm0.10mm). If the fish are being particularly wary, try dead-sticking the lure on the surface near cover and giving it a tiny twitch every few secondsthe holographic flash is often enough to provoke a strike without even moving the lure forward
